We had intentions on buying one for our sweet Samual, unfortunately due to everything happening so fast we were unable to get one for him. Once we found out we were pregnant with our rainbow baby we ordered one. I knew that I would need to have more tools for her, because of the state of mind I was in after Samual’s passing, I knew that I would freak out at every different little noise or change. After using the Smart-Sock on Quinn, I did realize that it might have given us an early indication that something was going on with him.

CDH babies have increased hypertension and are more susceptible to even the smallest of germs, such as the cold in our case, because of their underdeveloped lungs. The hole in the diaphragm allows all the other organs to come up so there isn’t enough room for the lung to develop correctly. I knew that this would be a valuable tool for Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia families. We reached out and asked if they could do anything to help these miracles. On average about 1,600 are born with CDH here in the states but only half make it to their first birthdays. We want to give those survivors the tools they need to thrive in each of their complex situations. To my surprise they agreed, and actually did a lot more than I expected.
